Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone admits that the next three weeks are some of the biggest weeks of his life and believes that all of Spain are behind his team.

Atletico Madrid need four points from their last two games of the season to secure the league title, but they will face Barcelona at the Camp Nou on the final day of the season.

They will also compete in the Champions League final against their cross-town rivals Real Madrid at the Estadio da Luz on 24th May.

"It's not easy to break the hegemony of the two strongest teams, but that's entirely to our credit”, Simeone explained to reporters.

Simeone knows that a fantastic season might implode if Los Indios fail to keep their heads in the home stretch, but the Argentine believes that the neutrals in Spain are behind his team and want a new team from Spain to succeed.

"We try to show that you can compete if you keep working continuously. Everyone in Spain, fans of all teams, are hoping for a positive outcome for Atletico."

Atletico Madrid have won La Liga nine times in their history, but their most recent triumph came in the 1995/96 season.

If Los Indios go on to lift the Champions League crown under the Lisbon night sky on 24th May, it will be their first triumph in Europe’s premier club competition.
