Adnan Januzaj’s agent Dirk De Vriese has explained that he has not meddled with the youngster’s decision to represent Belgium in the international arena.

The 2013/14 campaign has been a breakthrough campaign for Januzaj and the 19-year-old has become a first team regular at Manchester United.

The youngster could have represented a number of countries at international level owing to his parentage, but he chose Belgium, the country of his birth.

"Yes, he loves his country. He grew up here and his friends, such as Romelu Lukaku are Belgians”, De Vriese told HLN.

De Vriese has denied playing any part in Januzaj’s choice of his international team and said he is only an advisor to the youngster.

“My role is that of a sports counselor, I certainly do not meddle in the choice of the country he wants to represent.”

Januzaj was one of the stars of the Manchester United Under-21 team last season that won the Under-21 Premier League by beating Tottenham.

The Belgian became a first team regular this season and has made 34 appearances for the Red Devils in this campaign.
