Former Celtic scout Helena Costa, who has been appointed as coach of French Ligue 2 side Clermont, insists she is fully aware of the pressure that comes from managing a men's professional team.

The Portuguese, who worked for Celtic scouting players and opposing teams in both Portugal and Spain, was appointed the new Clermont coach yesterday.

All eyes will be on Costa to assess how she performs next season, but the former coach of the women's teams of Iran and Qatar is fully aware of the level of pressure on her shoulders.

"I am very happy and motivated by the challenge", she told France Bleu Auvergne.

"I think this is a good thing for the club, the chairman and the players.

"I am aware of the pressure, but it is not a problem for me", Costa added.

Costa becomes the first woman to lead a men's professional team in French football.
