Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes his team should not be disappointed with having finished third in the Premier League.

The Blues came from behind to beat Welsh side Cardiff City 2-1 today to win their final game of the campaign, finishing behind second-placed Liverpool and champions Manchester City.

And Mourinho feels a finish of third with 82 points is something to accept in a season he has dubbed "transitional".

"Finishing third is not a drama, it is a position we will have to accept in a transitional season", he said via his club's feed.

The Portuguese also believes that his team have built the foundations to fight hard for the title next season.

"If we do our work well in the summer market, I want to say from day one next season we challenge for the title."

Chelsea will now concentrate on bolstering their squad in time for next season, with a new striker at the top of the agenda for the Blues.
