Celtic striker Georgios Samaras has revealed that he will be leaving the Scottish champions during this summer.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Bhoys in 2008, first on loan from Manchester City and then on a permanent deal, has made a total of 171 appearances for the club, scoring 52 goals.

The departure however, is shrouded by controversy, with the former Heerenveen player accusing his club of forcing his decision.

"I'm going away, that's for sure," the Greek international was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"But it was not my decision. I never received an offer from the club."

Samaras has made 71 appearances for Greece having scored eight goals for his team.
