Ryan Giggs will sit down with Louis van Gaal in the Netherlands today to discuss the Welshman’s potential role at Manchester United as the club put the final touches to their new management team at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal, who is currently the Dutch national team manager, is set to become the new Manchester United manager.

Giggs, who was named the interim manager at Manchester United after David Moyes was sacked in April by the board, recently said that he is unsure on whether he should bring the curtains down on his playing career.

Giggs and Manchester United’s vice-chairman Ed Woodward will meet Van Gaal today to discuss the Welshman’s role on the Dutchman’s potential coaching staff at Old Trafford, according to the BBC.

Van Gaal is currently busy overseeing Holland’s preparation for the World Cup in a training camp in Hoenderloo and the squad have been given a day off for today.

From the coaching staff at Manchester United, goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has already been relieved of his duties at the club.

Van Gaal has won league titles in three different countries and led a young Ajax side to Champions League glory in 1995.
