Louis van Gaal has been blasted by Dordrecht coach Harry van den Ham, who feels the Holland boss should practice what he preaches.

Van Gaal, who is poised to be announced as the new Manchester United coach, taking up the post when the Oranje finish their World Cup campaign, has expressed his view on the Dutch second tier promotion playoff match between Sparta Rotterdam and Dordrecht, backing Sparta.

And this has not gone down well with Van den Ham.

"Van Gaal does not like it when fellow coaches comment on him or his work", the Dordrecht boss told the Algemeen Dagblad.

"But he can apparently have an opinion about the matches between Sparta and FC Dordrecht."

Indeed, Van den Ham, whose side lock horns with Sparta in the first leg of their tie this evening, believes Van Gaal favouring Sparta could influence the referee.

"Moreover, he influences the possible outcome in this way, as one of the top football personalities in the Netherlands.

"I think Pol van Boekel, who referees tonight, is a very capable and honest referee who will not be led by what Van Gaal says. But it does provide a direction."
