Samuel Eto'o has termed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho a ‘fool’ for calling him an old man and is adamant that he will play at a Champions League club next season.

Mourinho, who was also Eto'o’s manager at Inter Milan, was caught on camera earlier in the season joking that the Cameroon striker must be older than his official age.

Eto'o is out of contract at Chelsea this summer, but believes he did enough in his time at the west London club and it was foolish of Mourinho to term him an old man.

"Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters”, the 33-year-old was quoted as saying by the BBC.

The Cameroon international has no intention of retiring from football or plying his trade in inferior leagues and said that he will play at a Champions League club next season.

"Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. Where? I am not going to tell you."

Eto'o scored nine goals and provided five assists in his 21 league appearances for Chelsea this season. He also scored three times in the Blues’ run to the Champions League semi-finals.
