Moussa Sissoko is open to quitting Newcastle United this summer if he receives a suitable proposal, his agent has revealed.

The tough-tackling midfielder joined the Magpies from Toulouse in the January 2013 transfer window, switching from the Ligue 1 side where he had only six months to run on his contract.

However, just 18 months later the 24-year-old is looking for an escape route after a season of mediocrity at St. James' Park.

"He has only a year and a half on his contract at Newcastle and we are open to all proposals", Frederic Guerra, the France international's agent, explained to Eurosport.

Sissoko made 35 appearances in the Premier League for the Magpies this season, establishing himself as an indispensable member of Alan Pardew's squad.

However, Newcastle's late season slump, with just 12 points collected in their final 15 games, combined with selling countryman Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain, may have gone some way towards leaving Sissoko disillusioned.

The 24-year-old will have a chance to impress his suitors at the World Cup with France.
