Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro is a wanted man, the Brazilian midfielder's agent has claimed.

Sandro has long been popular with clubs from Italy's Serie A and the Spurs schemer has been linked with Roma and Napoli; a switch to either would give the 25-year-old Champions League football next season.

"Roma and Napoli? We have no direct negotiations with them", Sandro's agent Luis Paulo Chignall explained to Calcio Mercato.

"We know that there is much interest in Sandro because his qualities are rare in the transfer market. He is a modern player."

However, no bids have been made for the Brazilian, Chignall concedes.

"We have not received any official offers, although there are many rumours.

"Every player wants to play in Serie A, it is one of the biggest competitions in the world. We must now wait until the opening of the transfer market, then we will know if he can leave or not.

"He has a great relationship with the fans, he is very popular."

And Spurs may well not been keen on cashing in on the former Internacional midfielder, meaning Sandro is playing the waiting game on his future.

"Tottenham want to keep him, but we cannot rule out the club deciding to sell him for the right price.

"We can only wait."
