Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the Liverpool have started planning their strategy for the summer transfer window.

Liverpool finished second behind Manchester City in the Premier League this term and narrowly missed out on their first league title since 1990.

The Northern Irishman has confirmed that the Reds are not resting on their laurels and they have already started to design their strategy for the summer transfer market.

"Our work has started already," Rodgers told the club’s official site.

"We had a three-hour recruitment meeting.

"So there is certainly no complacency; we're hungry to succeed here.”

And Rodgers stressed that he wants to build on the performance of this season and challenge for the title again in the next campaign, with the ultimate aim being to finish top of the pile.

“As much as we've had a good season, we want to go one better next season if we can."
