Atletico Madrid owner Miguel Angel Gil Marin is determined that the club should retain their top players over the summer, despite talents such as Diego Costa being strongly linked with a move elsewhere.

Los Rojiblancos lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last night, slipping to a 4-1 defeat in extra-time after being poised to win the contest heading into the 90th minute in normal time.

The fear at the club is now of losing their star performers, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois tipped to go back to Chelsea and striker Costa believed set to follow him to Stamford Bridge.

But Gil Marin will do all he can to keep the current La Liga winning team together.
