Barcelona are willing to offer Dani Alves as part of a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to secure the signature of central defender Marquinhos.

With the retirement of Carles Puyol this season, Barcelona are actively in the market for a central defender and have identified the young PSG defender as a long term solution to the club’s defensive frailties.

The Catalan giants are looking to offload Alves this summer and are willing to make the Brazilian right-back part of any deal to sign Marquinhos from PSG, according to beIN Sports.

Alves made 42 appearances for the Catalan giants this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

PSG paid a hefty sum of €35m to Roma to see off the challenge from Barcelona to sign the 20-year-old last summer and are believed to be reluctant to part with the youngster after just one season.

Barcelona would have to part with considerable transfer fee along with Alves to convince PSG to sell young prospect Marquinhos to the Blaugrana.

The 20-year-old clocked up 21 league appearances for the club and scored two goals for the Parisians this season.
