Robin van Persie believes that Feyenoord pair Jordy Clasie and Bruno Martins Indi are rapidly improving themselves and has told the pair not to rest on their laurels and keep their eyes peeled to learn from others.

Both defender Martins Indi and midfielder Clasie have been included in Louis van Gaal's provisional World Cup squad, but it remains to be seen if they will make the cut into the final Dutch group.

Van Persie feels the pair have much talent, but must remain on their toes and keep learning, just as he did.

"I was not born smart, but I developed myself by keeping my eyes open", he was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

"They have qualities. I've received many beautiful balls in my career, but that ball from Clasie against Ecaudor was definitely one of the nicest.

"And when you see, for example, how Bruno Martins Indi makes himself available, how he receives balls, how he passes and looks around him. Compared to last year, there is a world of difference."

Van Persie may yet be teaming up with the duo at club level next season, with Manchester United having been linked with a swoop for the Feyenoord pair.

Holland coach Van Gaal is set to take over as Manchester United manager following the World Cup.
