Leeds United have confirmed the signing of forward Nicky Ajose from Peterborough United.

The former Manchester United youngster was absent from Peterborough's pre-season team photo session yesterday, with his whereabouts shrouded in mystery.

However, earlier today it emerged that Ajose was on his way to Elland Road for a medical and to discuss personal terms after Leeds agreed a fee with the Posh for his signature.

Now the Elland Road outfit have confirmed that Ajose has penned a three-year deal with the club.

Ajose was snapped up by Peterborough from Manchester United in 2011 for a fee of £300,000.

The 22-year-old forward spent the first half of last term on loan at Swindon Town before returning to Peterborough, but will now switch his focus to helping Leeds push for promotion from the Championship.

He is likely to be quickly joined through the Elland Road entrance by Juventus defender Frederik Sorensen, who is poised to sign for Leeds on loan.
