Louis van Gaal believes Manchester United are in the process of breeding the next generation of leaders at the club.
Van Gaal has seen his Red Devils side criticised for lacking leaders on the pitch this season and the Dutchman saw experienced defenders Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand all depart this summer.
And former Manchester United first team coach Phil Neville classes captain Wayne Rooney as the only leader at the club.
Neville said recently: "I think he's the only leader in this Manchester United team at the moment."
But Van Gaal feels that leaders are being developed and explained they are not the types of personalities that are fashioned overnight.

"At the time I was coming to the club, big leaders were leaving – Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand", he was quoted as saying by BT.
"Also, leadership is a process – you don't go from one day to the next and become a leader.
"It's a process and now a lot of players are in that process", Van Gaal added.
Manchester United clocked up a win against Everton today at Old Trafford, grabbing a 2-1 result without suspended captain Rooney.
