Poland and Arsenal custodian Wojciech Szczesny has warned his nation not to be complacent following their impressive 2-0 win over world champions Germany on Saturday.

Goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Sebastian Mila handed Poland, who are in Group D of the 2016 European Championship qualifiers, their first ever victory against Germany.

Poland’s win at the Stadion Narodowy helped them to move over Ireland on goal-difference with six points from two games.

However Szczesny, whose side are next up against Scotland on Tuesday, does not want Poland to rest on their laurels.

"Of course it [the win over Germany] will give us a lot of confidence”, he told the BBC.

"But there is a danger of complacency because you want to enjoy your win.

"Now we have to get everyone on board for the game on Tuesday.”

Szczesny, who insisted Poland are confident going into their game against Scotland, further added that his side will be looking to avenge their 3-0 loss at the hands of the Scots in Warsaw in March.

"We'll be confident against Scotland but they are a great side. They beat us here, so we know we're going to have to be at our very best to beat them”, he continued.

"There's a sense of revenge. We don't like to lose games, especially at home. They played very well here, it was a fair result so we will be looking forward to payback."
