Neil Redfearn feels Leeds United have laid down a marker by keeping hold of their up and coming young talents in the winter transfer window.
A number of Leeds starlets who have impressed this season have been linked with moves away from Elland Road. Defender Sam Byram along with midfielders Alex Mowatt and Lewis Cook are those thought to be most under the microscope from interested sides.
But all the Whites' young talents stayed put at Elland Road in the winter window and Redfearn has praised the club for keeping hold of up and coming players.
"It's helped [that they stayed] and the club have shown their intent that we are trying to build and trying to go forward, and keep our better players", the head coach told a press conference.
"The transfer deadline was an important time for us, definitely in that sense.

"It's good the club have shown the willingness to keep our better players, definitely", he added.
Cook has clocked up 28 Championship appearances for Leeds this season despite being just 18 years of age, while Mowatt has 22 games to his name in the current campaign.
Byram meanwhile has earned 26 Championship appearances for the Whites this term.
Redfearn will undoubtedly call on Leeds' starlets further this season as he looks to pull the Yorkshire giants up to a safe mid-table position.
