Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn feels his side "murdered" Millwall in the first half of their 1-0 win today, but admits missed chances forced them to scrap for their three points.

The Whites dominated the first period, but struggled to make their pressure count until Alex Mowatt hit a superb free-kick in the 39th minute to give them the lead.

Millwall grew into the game in the second period, enjoying much more possession, and Leeds were subjected to a number of nervy moments at Elland Road.

However, Leeds held on for what is their fourth win in their last five games, leaving Redfearn delighted, especially at their first half display.

"Tough game. We had to scrap it out at the end", he told LUTV, delivering his verdict.

"I thought we were brilliant first half and murdered them. But we didn't put it away and while it's 1-0 they've got a chance. But there's a resilience about us now, you can see that. We're improving bit by bit and look a tough Championship side to beat.

"We're on a good run and we're getting confidence from it", the head coach added.

Leeds have now jumped up to 12th in the Championship table with 38 points from their 31 games, and can start to look upwards and away from the relegation scrap.

Next up for the Whites though is an acid test with a trip to high flying Middlesbrough before a visit to Brighton on 24th February.
