Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes one of the reasons Alexis Sanchez has seamlessly settled down at the club is because the Chilean was desperate to join the Gunners last summer.
Wenger beat off competition from clubs across Europe, notably Premier League rivals Liverpool, to secure the signature of the much-coveted winger last summer from Barcelona.
Sanchez has also quickly adapted to English football and is one of the players of the season for Arsenal with 18 goals and ten assists to his name in all competitions.
However, his performance in his first campaign at Arsenal hasn’t come as a surprise for Wenger as the Frenchman always believed that the experience of playing in Europe would come in handy for Sanchez.
The Chilean was chased by Liverpool consistently through the summer, but Wenger feels he was desperate to join the Gunners, which is evident from his performances and the desire he shows on the field in Arsenal colours.
