Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists that facing former Chelsea striker Demba Ba in the Europa League this evening won't bring back any bad memories for him.
The 29-year-old was one of main reasons behind Liverpool losing out on the Premier League title last season, as he capitalised on a slip from Reds' skipper Steven Gerrard to score the opener at Anfield.
And at the end of the day the slip proved costly as Liverpool went on to lose the match 2-0, allowing Manchester City to capitalise and go on to win the league.
Rodgers though feels that there is no reason why his team should still have the loss at the back of their mind when they take on Ba's current side Besiktas in a Europa League round of 32 clash, the first leg coming this evening.
Rodgers in fact went on to express his delight at seeing Ba flourish for Besiktas and insists that his team will not see him as the one and only threat for the match.

"It won't stimulate any bad memories for me", Rodgers said at a press conference yesterday.
"At the time he scored a goal, which was a good goal, but he has scored many good goals in his career.
"We just see him as a threat that we will pay respect to but nothing more than that.
"He had a very good period here in England, he is a wonderful player, who has good touch and technique and he scores goals.
"He has gone to Besiktas and done well."
Liverpool have dropped into the Europa League after failing to qualify from their Champions League group.
The Reds, chasing Champions League qualification once again this term, would receive a spot in the prestigious competition for next season if they win this term's Europa League.
