Reacting to the speculation surrounding Manuel Pellegrini’s future at the Etihad Stadium, Besiktas boss Slaven Bilic has joked about a job offer from Manchester City.

Manchester City are seven points off the pace from Premier League leaders Chelsea at the moment and are preparing for the daunting task of facing Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16.

The Citizens were almost facing elimination in the group stage in Europe before they won their last two games to book their place in the knockout round and have come in for criticism for allowing Chelsea to clock up a healthy lead in the Premier League with some inconsistent performances during crucial phases of the season.

There has been speculation that Pellegrini is feeling the pinch at the Etihad and his future at the club will come under serious pressure should they fail to defend the title and show progress in Europe.

Reacting to the rumours the Croatian joked that he has received an interesting offer from the Citizens, where they would sell a few valuable players just to afford him.

“Yes, I have already received an offer from Manchester City”, Bilic told Croatian daily tportal.

“They told me that they are going to sell [Samir] Nasri, [Yaya] Toure and [Vincent] Kompany just for me.

“Of course there is no offer, my ambition lies with Besiktas”, Bilic concluded.

Bilic’s Besiktas will take on Liverpool in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 clash at Anfield tonight. Putting the Reds out of Europe would further boost the Croatian's stock.
