Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has denied that the club are preparing to offer winger Jordon Ibe a new contract at the club.

Rodgers chose to recall Ibe from a loan stint at Derby County in January, despite the youngster playing on a regular basis and shining in the Championship at the iPro Stadium.

Ibe has regularly been fielded by Rodgers since his return from loan and featured for Liverpool again this evening against Besiktas in the Europa League.

He won Liverpool's penalty, slotted away by Mario Balotelli, in a 1-0 win over Besiktas this evening.

It had been reported in the English media that Ibe is set for a new contract at the club and Rodgers was asked about the story at his post-match press conference.

And Rodgers denied that Ibe is set to be offered a new deal.

"No, there's nothing on a new contract, no", the Liverpool manager said, after he had praised Ibe's performance against Besiktas.

The 19-year-old joined Liverpool from Wycombe Wanderers in 2012.
