Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn will not rule out a dash to the playoff places in the Championship for his in-form side, however he is equally wary of being dragged back into the relegation scrap.

The Whites have seen their form pick up over the last five games, with four wins collected and a surge up to 13th spot in the table achieved.

There is now talk around Elland Road of a possible late charge for a playoff spot, something which appeared unlikely at the start of the new year.

Redfearn is delighted with his side's recent performances and will not rule out pushing for the playoffs. However, he is equally aware that teams below Leeds at present are capable of stringing together their own run of wins.

"Where there's points to play for it's always realistic", he told a press conference, when asked if a playoff push is possible.

"But on the other hand there are other clubs who can put runs together and there are clubs underneath us who can claw us back in [to the relegation fight].

"So we're in a flux where we've had a good run, put ourselves in a good position, but there's still a lot to play for, a lot of games to play", the 49-year-old continued.

"We have a lot of good sides to play and we've got to respect that, we've got to respect that we're in a really good division.

"I think if we do that and apply the principals of recent games we will keep picking results up."

Redfearn's men will face their stiffest test for some time tomorrow when Middlesbrough, challenging for an automatic promotion spot, host them at the Riverside Stadium.

Aitor Karanka's men currently top the pile with 60 points from their 31 games, having lost only five times all season.
