Harry Kane believes Tottenham Hotspur deserved their come-from-behind 2-2 draw against West Ham at White Hart Lane today and admitted his late penalty to grab a point was a nervous moment.

West Ham went in front in the 22nd minute of the Premier League contest after Cheikhou Kouyate headed the ball home, stunning the White Hart Lane faithful.

Spurs pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but fell further behind just past the hour mark with Diafra Sakho guiding home a cross from Mark Noble to put West Ham 2-0 up.

But Spurs would not give up and, in a game played at a furious pace, pulled a goal back through Danny Rose, who mis-hit a shot in the 81st minute.

The hosts had hope and began to subject the Hammers to intense pressure, which eventually paid off when Alex Song was judged to have fouled Kane in the penalty area.

Kane stepped up in the fifth minute of injury time and, despite seeing his spot-kick pushed out by Adrian, was first to the ball to slot it home, earning a 2-2 draw for Spurs.

Kane, speaking to BT Sport, admits the penalty was a nervous moment and he was delighted to have been able to put home the rebound.

"The ball bounced nicely for me, I got in front of Alex Song, was about to shoot and got tumbled over", he said.

"It was a nervous penalty to take, but when your luck is in your luck is in. My heart was in my mouth when the keeper saved the first shot, but it fell nicely for the rebound."

And all in all Kane felt Spurs fully deserved their draw as they showed real character to come from behind.

"I think we deserved the draw, we dug deep at 2-0 down and it shows our character.

"We were sloppy in the first half but at 2-0 down we started playing better and knew what we had to do. Not one head dropped.

"We knew we had half an hour to go, knew if we got one then the second could come. We're delighted to get the draw."
