Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard feels the only modern English defender who can be compared with England’s legendary World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore is John Terry.
Moore’s name will always remain special in the history of English football as the first and so far the only Three Lions captain to lift the World Cup, in 1966.
Also a legendary West Ham skipper, Moore never won the English league title and only won the FA Cup once in 1965.
Regarded as one of the best English defenders the game has ever seen, Lampard feels it is difficult to compare any modern English defender with the legend.
However, the midfielder said that his former Chelsea team-mate Terry is the only modern Englishman who can come close to Moore’s ability.

"In terms of a modern day player”, Lampard told EA Sports.
“It's not easy to compare to Bobby Moore, but in terms of the ability that they have on the football field I think the closest you could get would be John Terry in the modern day."
Lampard also believes with Moore’s ability and skill, the former England captain would have easily succeeded in adapting to the demands of modern football.
"If you were to put Bobby in any era, in the era he played or moving up to the era now with [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, with his quality across the board, he would be able to deal with all of them."
Moore earned 108 caps for England and made 646 league and cup appearances for the Hammers, scoring 27 goals.
