Tottenham Hotspur great Clive Allen feels that young striker Harry Kane deserves every bit of praise he is getting at present.
The 21-year-old has been a revelation for the Lilywhites this season, having managed to score 24 goals in 37 matches so far. He has also provided his team-mates with five equally important assists.
And as Mauricio Pochettino's team prepare to face league leaders Chelsea in the League Cup final on Sunday, the 53-year-old hopes that Kane will turn out to be the reason for the Pensioners' undoing at Wembley.
Drawing reference from the Lilywhites' 5-3 victory over Chelsea on New Year's Day, Allen added that the match could well turn out to be a big advantage for his team going into Sunday's final.
"It was an outstanding performance, not only from Harry but from the whole team – it was a big game and probably the first time that Spurs have dismantled Chelsea in the way that they did," Allen was quoted as saying by ITV.

"They will have confidence going in on the back of that."
Having had the chance to work with Kane when he first arrived at the club, Allen insists that he knew from the very beginning that the youngster had the talent to make it big.
"Having worked with him when he first came into the club you could see he was a talent.
"He knew and worked on his deficiencies, he had a great attitude towards his work and always had a natural gift for getting into the right positions to score goals.
"He improved his finishing and his technical ability over a period and thoroughly deserves to get to where he has got."
