Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti believes his players are not working as a team, after watching his side go down to a surprise 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao.
Aritz Aduriz scored the only goal of the game for the Basque side as they put Real Madrid to the sword and handed Barcelona the chance to jump to the top of La Liga tomorrow if they can defeat Rayo Vallecano.
Real Madrid did have opportunities throughout the match, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema receiving good chances, while Gareth Bale hit the post.
They could not find the breakthrough though and that left Ancelotti bemoaning a painful defeat, being left with the feeling that his side are not working as a team.
"There is no connection, there is too much individual play", Ancelotti was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"We need to attack as a team. It is quite confusing what we are doing when we are attacking at the moment."
Real Madrid are still top of La Liga, two points clear of Barcelona, but have played a game more.
The side's next game is in the Champions League against Schalke, with their next La Liga clash coming afterwards, when Levante visit the Bernabeu.
