Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that contrary to received wisdom, the international break has been good for his team.
According to the 43-year-old, it is always difficult for a team to come back after an international break and pick up the pace at club level once again.
However, it is not going to be the a case this time around for the Lilywhites as they have had their players performing well for their respective countries on the international scene, Pochettino says.
On the other hand the players who have stayed put at White Hard Lane have also been training hard and are equally fit and are at a good level.
Speaking to his club's official website post a training session, Pochettino explained: “It’s been a very good week for Tottenham.

“The English players and others with their international teams have put in good performances. They are all fit and at a very good level, too.
“It’s also been a time to train very hard with the players that remained here with us and now it’s back to normal.
“It’s always difficult after the international break but today all the players are with us and we’re starting to prepare for the trip to Burnley.
“We need to make it a good performance and win the game.”
The Lilywhites are currently placed seventh in the league table, trailing sixth placed Southampton in terms of goal difference and are scheduled to visit Turf Moor this weekend to take on relegation battlers Burnley.
