Leeds United trio Alex Mowatt, Charlie Taylor and Sam Byram have saluted Kalvin Phillips, who made his senior debut for the club today against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Whites boss Neil Redfearn named Phillips in his starting eleven in the away Championship fixture, blooding the youngster against one of the league's in-form sides.




Leeds lost 4-3 at Molineux, but did pull the score back to 3-3 at one point after being 3-1 down. And Phillips played all 90 minutes of the match.

 


After the clash his team-mates lined up to shower praise on him and express their delight that he made his senior debut.

Mowatt wrote on his Twitter account: "Gutted about the result today, congrats to Kalvin Phillips on the debut."

Meanwhile, Byram wrote: "Disappointed not to come away with a point against a good team. Big congrats to Kalvin Phillips making his debut in a tough game."

And Taylor, who scored Leeds' first goal, which was also his first senior goal for the Whites, wrote: "Gutted not to get anything from the game today, but delighted to get my first goal.

"Also buzzing for Kalvin Phillips on his debut!!!"

Phillips will be looking to kick on in Leeds' remaining five Championship games this season.

Leeds' remaining games this season are Cardiff (home), Norwich (home), Charlton (away), Sheffield Wednesday (away) and Rotherham (home).
