Ahead of Wednesday’s encounter against Patrick Thistle, Celtic assistant manager John Collins has praised their opponents, saying that they have stuck to playing attractive football, despite being mired in the lower half of the table.

The Hoops will host Alan Archibald’s men at Celtic Park on Wednesday, where a win for the hosts will see them inch closer to their fourth successive league title.

Following their win over Dundee United in the final of the League Cup last month, Celtic have already collected their first silverware of the season and they have reached the semi-finals final of the Scottish FA Cup, thereby the Hoops appear on course to win a historic domestic treble.

Patrick Thistle are lying a lowly ninth in the table, but Collins has praised the side for the attractive nature of their game, commending them for not resorting to defensive football.

“We played very well against them in the last game but I have to say that I enjoy watching Partick Thistle”, the assistant manager told the Celtic View.

“They are a good football team and lots of credit goes to their manager for the way they try and play the game.

“They have been in the bottom half of the league most of the season, but they have still stuck to their principals and tried to play.

"We know they will try and get the ball and pass it but we are at home and we have to try and score that early goal and control the game”, he concluded.
