Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has lavished praise on his forwards Fernando Torres and Antoine Griezmann after his team secured a 2-0 win over David Moyes’ Real Sociedad last night.
Simeone’s men headed into the match on the back of consecutive league wins and notched their third successive 2-0 win to strengthen their third position in the table.
The Argentine expressed his delight with his team’s win and lavished praise on Torres and Griezmann for their stellar work on the field. The Spaniard was in the thick of the action, even though he couldn’t get on the scoresheet, whereas the Frenchman notched his 16th league goal of the season to help Los Rojiblancos win all three points.
Former Chelsea striker Torres’s performance especially pleased Simeone, who said that his partnership with Griezmann is working to perfection.
“He is looking good to me. He’s working at what the team needs”, the 44-year-old was quoted as saying by AS.

“He’s back scoring which is exactly what we needed from him and he worked for the team.
“We’re delighted that is back among the goals and I hope he continues this upward trajectory. He’s got a lot ahead of him; he’s still only young.”
