West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan has described manager Sam Allardyce’s target of breaking the Hammers’ points tally since their return to Premier League as a massive challenge.
Allardyce’s men started the season on a strong note and were among the top four in the early parts of the season, but their form has taken a turn for the worse since the turn of the year.
The Hammers have lost five and drawn the same number out of their 12 matches this year and have slipped to ninth in the table as a result. Allradyce has set the target of bettering their haul of 46 points in the 2012/13 season, their highest tally since promotion from the Championship.
Nolan, who has scored once in the league this season, has said that the target set by the 60-year-old is massive, adding that their early season form makes them deserving of a record points haul.
“It’s massive”, the 32-year-old told his club’s site in an interview.
