Brendan Rodgers was pleased with the overall performance of his Liverpool side in their FA Cup quarter-final replay win over Blackburn last night.
Philippe Coutinho replicated his fourth round heroics at Ewood Park when he scored in the 70th minute to break the deadlock and book Liverpool’s place in the semi-finals of the competition.
The Brazilian also scored a spectacular late winner in Liverpool's fourth-round replay win at Bolton earlier in the competition.
Liverpool made heavy work of their Championship opponents last night, but despite the narrow nature of their win, Rodgers was pleased with the overall performance of his team.
The Liverpool boss admits there were always going to be moments in the match when his team had to come under pressure, but believes his side controlled the game well to book their place in the last four of the FA Cup.

"I thought we played very well, both in attack and our defending was very strong”, Rodgers told the club’s official website.
"Of course you have some moments when the ball is going long into your box, but I thought we stood up to that incredibly well and our positioning and possession was good in the game on a difficult field.
"It was an outstanding team performance, the players deserve a huge amount of credit and they achieved what we wanted to – which was to get to the semi-final.”
Liverpool will play Aston Villa in the semi-final of the FA Cup later this month.
The Red will look to get back to winning ways in the league when they host Newcastle United on Monday night.
