Liverpool forward Fabio Borini admits that Aston Villa are going to be tough opponents in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Reds registered a narrow 1-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night to book their place in the last four of the competition.

Brendan Rodgers men had to battle hard to beat a resilient Blackburn team over two legs and the Liverpool players are naturally pleased to be in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

However, Borini warned that the job is still not done yet and they still need to beat a tough opponent in the last four to get to the final of the competition.

“It’s a great achievement but it’s only half the job done”, Borini told LFC TV.

“We need win the semi-final and go into the final. That is one the main objectives we are trying to achieve.”

The Italian thinks Aston Villa have the players in their squad to hurt Liverpool on a big Wembley pitch and is expecting a tough semi-final encounter.

However, Borini believes Liverpool are one of the favourites to win the competition and have a good chance to lift the trophy for the first time since 2006.

“They are in [good] form, they have quick players and with the big pitch at Wembley, it will always be difficult.

“We have a chance; we are one of the four teams in the semi-finals, so yes we can win the FA Cup.”

Borini was an unused substitute against Blackburn but will be hoping to see some action against Villa and may be in the FA Cup final too.
