Celtic boss Ronny Deila is delighted with the performance of John Guidetti and Leigh Griffiths in tandem when the duo led the Hoops’ attack against Kilmarnock last night.

Deila’s men ran away with a 4-1 win over Killie to consolidate their lead at the top of the Premiership as they attempt to seal their fourth consecutive league title.

Griffiths started the match on the bench, but was brought on around the hour mark and scored a whirlwind hat-trick to put the match beyond the visitors’ reach.

The Norwegian expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Griffiths, who has put himself in the reckoning for the Hoops’ Scottish FA Cup tie against Inverness Caledonian Thistle this weekend.

“He was lively”, Deila told Celtic TV, speaking about Griffiths.

The manager took pleasure from watching his striking duo in tandem, saying that it was good feeling to see them working together and scoring goals.

“John and him were also good together so it was unbelievably good feeling when they put the ball in the net.”

Following their clash against the Jags on Sunday, Celtic will resume their league campaign against Dundee on Wednesday.
