Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stressed that he is not paying much heed to Zinedine Zidane’s comments on Eden Hazard’s qualities and insisted that for him the team’s objectives will always take precedence over individual glories.

Hazard has been one of the shining lights of Mourinho’s Chelsea team this season and has been touted as a contender to sweep the individual awards in England at the end of the term.

The Belgian has garnered widespread praise for his performances at Chelsea this season and even France legend Zidane joined the Hazard admiration club recently.

The former midfielder believes that Hazard is the third best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and Mourinho agrees with him.

However, he stressed that he is not too keen into going into such kinds of comparisons as he believes it takes the focus away from the team’s objectives.

While Hazard remains the favourite to win individual awards in England this season, Mourinho stressed that he is not thinking about them and insisted that winning the Premier League title remains the focus of the Belgian and the whole Chelsea squad.

“I think he is now [the third best player in the world] but this is not our culture in this country or in this club, it's not even my culture as a coach to be going in this direction, first best, second best, third best”, Mourinho said in a press conference.

“I say in this moment he is a fantastic player.

"I always say that the most important thing is the team targets, the objectives we reach as a team. If we win the Premier League then his season is absolutely fantastic.

“If on the top of that he has some individual awards that's nice.”
