Martin Odegaard's agent says that a loan for his client is still possible despite the midfielder heading off on Real Madrid's pre-season tour of Australia and China.

The 16-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with joining several sides on loan, a group which includes Scottish champions Celtic; Bhoys manager Ronny Deila used to boss Odegaard at his former club Stromsgodset.

Odegaard is being given a chance to impress new Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez on the club's pre-season tour, but his spot in the travelling party does not preclude a loan agreement later this summer, agent Tore Pedersen says.

Asked earlier this week whether a loan is now off the table, Pedersen told Norwegian broadcaster TV2: "A loan is still relevant."

Real Madrid have a packed summer schedule during which Odegaard will be looking to shine.
