Louis van Gaal believes it is unfair to say that Manchester United cannot attack and believes his team are just going through a difficult moment when it comes to scoring goals.

Manchester United have drawn their last three games 0-0 and fans could be heard chanting 'attack, attack, attack' during Saturday's goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

Van Gaal's men have scored 15 goals in eleven Premier League games, the fewest of any side in the top four and fewer even than 15th placed Chelsea.

But they have only conceded eight goals, a record Van Gaal is keen to highlight, while he also stated his belief that the current lack of goals is only a blip.

"It was not always a big Theatre of Dreams. I am sorry to say that but it is logical also. Now we are making, hopefully, history but it takes time", he told a press conference, ahead of Manchester United's Champions League game against CSKA Moscow tomorrow night.

"Now we are the best defenders of the Premier League, you say we cannot attack and it's not true.

"It's only a moment in a process. It's a bad period when you don't score. Football is scoring goals", the Dutch manager added.

Van Gaal will be looking for his side to bang in the goals tomorrow at Old Trafford to record a morale-boosting victory over CSKA Moscow.
