Steve Evans has told on-loan winger Will Buckley to earn a regular spot in the starting line-up at Elland Road.
Buckley is on loan at Leeds from Premier League outfit Sunderland on a deal running until January. The winger was snapped up by Evans' predecessor Uwe Rosler.
He has struggled to command a spot in the side and has had to make do with a place on the bench under Evans, but the former Rotherham United boss admits that Buckley is desperate to play.
And he challenged the ex-Brighton man to show he is worthy of being in the team at Elland Road when the two had a chat about the player's situation.
"I think Will wants to have more game time", Evans told LUTV.

"He's another player that I've had a chat with and said he has to demonstrate it by performance and earn the right to be in the team, but Will was out a long time with a bad injury before he came to Leeds United.
"Of course that's behind him now and he'll want to kick on and get matches, but you have to deserve to be in the team", he added.
Buckley will be hoping to be involved tomorrow night when Leeds try to shake off their poor home record against Cardiff City.
The winger could be joined by another player from Sunderland at Leeds soon, with the Whites trying to sign midfielder Liam Bridcutt on loan.
