West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet has congratulated his former Marseille team-mate Andre-Pierre Gignac for making a comeback into the France squad.
The 29-year-old striker left Marseille in the summer and shocked most of the football world when he moved to Mexico to join Tigres.
The forward has already earned 21 caps for France and many felt a move to Mexico could have ended his international career, but Gignac has fought his way back into the team on the back of his performances.
The 29-year-old has scored ten goals in 14 appearances for Tigres and has earned a recall to the France squad for next week’s international friendlies against Germany and England.
On his return to the France team, Gignac took to Twitter and wrote: “What an awakening. As always pride and emotion.
