Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao has been rewarded for his good form for the Owls with a call-up to the senior Portugal squad.
The striker helped to shoot down Arsenal in the League Cup recently and declared afterwards that he had not given up hope of catching Portugal coach Fernando Santos' eye.
And Joao has done just that, being called up by the Portugal boss for the country's friendly fixtures against Russia on 14th November and Luxemburg on 17th November.
Santos has also opted to call up another player from the Championship in the shape of Nottingham Forest's Nelson Oliveira.
The Portugal coach is bidding to take a closer look at a number of players, with Southampton sending two players to the national group in the shape of defenders Cedric and Jose Fonte.
