Jurgen Klopp has paid tribute to his predecessor at Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers, who he believes left him a good base to work with at Anfield.
Liverpool opted to sack Rodgers at the start of October following a poor opening period in the season from the Reds under the Northern Irishman, who had been appointed in 2012.
Former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp was drafted in and has so far led Liverpool to three draws and three wins, in a solid and improving start to life as Reds boss.
And the German feels he does owe a debt to Rodgers for leaving a squad of good quality for him to work with, something which means he is at present only tinkering with the side.
"As I said at the beginning, we have to turn small screws and that’s what we are doing at this moment, but the base was not so bad", Klopp told a press conference.

"Brendan did a really good job here, so it’s not that we should be showing them how football works.
"There is a good base in this team because of Brendan’s work", Klopp added.
Liverpool won on Thursday night in the Europa League, beating Rubin Kazan 1-0 away in Russia, while they are next in action on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace at Anfield in a Premier League clash.
