Former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness believes that Tottenham Hotspur starlet Dele Alli is set for big things in the game.

Alli put in a superb performance for Spurs in the north London derby yesterday as his side enjoyed the better of their meeting with Arsenal, a game which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Souness was hugely impressed by Alli's performance, which belied his tender years, and has tipped the 19-year-old to continue developing and achieve big things.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness said: "He doesn't look a big strong boy, but he is.

"He doesn't come across as a big personality in front of the camera, but on the pitch he is", Souness continued.

Spurs snapped Alli up from MK Dons in the 2015 winter transfer window, but allowed him to see out the campaign with the then League One outfit before he landed at White Hart Lane in the summer.

Alli has made rapid progress since the start of the season and already has two senior England caps to his name. The midfielder will be bidding to book a spot in Roy Hodgson's Three Lions squad for Euro 2016 next summer.
