Gonzalo Higuain’s brother and agent Nicolas has revealed that his client is set to stay at Napoli, despite long-term interest from Arsenal, while Chelsea are also in the hunt.

The Argentina international was again linked with moving to the Premier League over the summer, but ended up remaining in Italy with Napoli as the Serie A side fended off interest.

And Nicolas has insisted that the Argentine international is happy at Napoli and is not looking to quit the Serie A outfit, something which will disappoint the player's suitors.

"First, I have not spoken to any club because no one contacted me and then it would be disrespectful to Napoli,” he explained to Radio Crc.

“[Aurelio] De Laurentis [the president of Napoli] is a great man, a man of honour and I could not behave incorrectly.

“Gonzalo is quiet, he has a contract with Napoli and he is not preparing for a departure because he is happy.”

Higuain, whose present contract with Napoli runs until 2018, joined the club from Real Madrid in 2013, picking the Italian side over Arsenal and instantly hit the ground running.

The 27-year-old has thus far scored 64 goals and provided 26 assists in 119 appearances in all competitions for the Italian club.

The striker also has 25 goals in 52 matches for Argentina to his name.
