Manchester United winger Memphis Depay is confident that he is getting better in training and will soon return to the first eleven at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old winger was one of the most coveted players in the summer and Manchester United had to fight off competition from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain to secure his signature.
However, after a bright start the winger’s form tailed off and he has been out of Louis van Gaal’s first eleven for the last few weeks.
The Manchester United boss has backed his compatriot to get through this initial struggles and feels the youngster needs some time to settle into a higher quality of football in England.
Depay is also confident that he is getting better in training and believes he will soon get another opportunity to impress at Old Trafford, after a period of struggle.

"Of course, it's difficult when you’re on the bench, but it’s going better right now and it’s also going better on the training pitch", the winger told Dutch broadcaster NOS.
"So, if I get my chance to play, I will take it.”
The 22-year-old admits that it has been a little difficult to adapt to a new country and style of football and conceded that his struggles reflected in his inconsistent performances.
However, he insisted that he has been working hard on the training pitch to improve and is hoping all the hard yards he has been putting in will eventually pay off.
"I think lots of things changed.
"I’m at a new club right now and it’s a different level compared to the Dutch league.
"Such things are playing a big role when you’re trying to find your way and it was a bit easy at the start, but then I fell back and you could see it in the way I played.
“However, you can assume I’m busy with working on that and getting back to the top. I feel fit and I’m trying to show on the training ground that I’m doing my best to perform well."
