Manchester United target Thomas Muller is set to put pen to paper on a new improved contract with Bayern Munich soon.
The English giants were desperate to sign the Germany forward in the summer and reportedly tabled large bids to snare him away from Bayern Munich, only for the Bavarians to stonewall their attempts. Interest from the Red Devils has continued, leading to the German club's CEO to ask the English side to call off their chase.
The German champions are aware that Manchester United have the finances to lure Muller to England and it has been claimed that the club have hurriedly prepared a new improved contact for the forward, to keep him away from the Red Devils’ clutches.
According to Germany daily Bild, Muller and the club have reached an agreement in principle over a new contract and the player will put to paper on the new deal later this month.
The forward currently earns €8.5m per season at the Allianz Arena, but the new five-year contract will increase his wages to €15m, making him one of the top earners in the current Bayern Munich squad.
