The return of Champions League football to Old Trafford this season, coupled with the sales of their replica Adidas kits, have provided a major fillip to their revenues in the first quarter.

Manchester United are expecting their annual revenues to be between £500m and £510m, which would be a record total as no club have ever breached the £500m mark.

The Champions League has brought extra cash into the club’s coffers in the form of matchday receipts and broadcast revenues, something they missed out on last season.
