Didier Drogba has revealed that he has no plans to return to Chelsea as a player during the January transfer window.
Following his debut season in the MLS with Montreal Impact, the 37-year-old has been mooted as potentially returning to England on loan, but the forward has ruled out playing for his former club Chelsea.
Chelsea are currently struggling to resemble the side that won the Premier League last season and there are rumours that they could turn to their former forward to salvage their campaign in January.
While the Ivorian is ready to train with his former side, he admits that he is not too keen to wear the Chelsea colours again on the football pitch.
When asked whether Drogba will like a return to Chelsea, the forward was quoted as saying by the National: “To train? Why not?

“But it’s something I would need to discuss with the club [Montreal], because I belong to them.
“Playing? I’m not too hot on that idea.”
Drogba scored 12 goals in 14 appearances for Montreal and the veteran forward is keen to take adequate rest before he travels back to Canada for the new season. He also wants to respect the contract he signed with the MLS outfit.
“I need to rest and make sure that I’m ready for the new season.
“I signed a one-and-a-half year contract, I always like to respect what I have signed.”
