West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang is hoping to be fit in time for next weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spaniard joined the Hammers from Sampdoria this summer, but is yet to secure a regular spot in Slaven Bilic’s starting eleven, despite making seven Premier League appearances.
The midfielder suffered a quadriceps injury in training last month and missed their last two league games against Watford and Everton, but he is hopeful that he is firmly on the road to recovery.
The 23-year-old has insisted that he is feeling much better now and revealed that he is expecting to return to full training with the squad next week, before the Premier League returns to action next weekend.
Obiang is also confident that he will be fit enough to take part in their trip to Tottenham and is hoping to return to action at White Hart Lane in a week from tomorrow.

“I'm feeling better now and I'm training hard to hopefully join the rest of the guys, but these things happen”, the midfielder told the club’s official website.
“I just want to get back as soon as I can to help the team. We're focusing on the areas where I'm feeling a bit of discomfort so that next week I can start training again with the rest of the team.
“I'm very much looking forward to the next match against Tottenham as I am with every game, as it represents a new opportunity to play.”
West Ham are level on points with Tottenham in the league table and given their record away from home this season, they will be confident of getting a result in north London next weekend.
